Kith: A Merry Band of Misfits

Created for One-Page RPG Jam 2023, KITH is an OSR game inspired by Cairn, Knave, Into the Odd, Quest, and more - with a focus on teamwork and the chaotic energy that a party can bring. 

Your group is a band of misfits that have hit a rough patch and are having trouble making ends meet. However, to your benefit (or maybe not), a mysterious patron has gifted you a home (well... barely) in exchange for doing odd tasks and adventuring quests. In exchange, you get the keep the treasure you find and use it to upgrade your new digs into something a bit cozier! 

• Guidance for setting up your group's shared history, a mysterious patron, and your home
• A short original spell list (but you should also use https://cairnrpg.com/cairn-srd/#100-spells too)
• Kin Points are rewarded by your Game Master for great teamwork by the players or whenever they feel like it! Kin points can be used to help teammates in special ways
• Party Tactics We've come up with mechanics to codify some cool group actions like syncing up on all-out risky attacks, vibing with each other WIL checks, and causing a ruckus

Thanks for downloading this one-page ttrpg!  This game is very obviously heavily influenced by amazing games written by the amazing people in the attribution section below. Please visit their sites, download their games, and support the community. With this game, I wanted to distill all my favorite rules and some of my own into an OSR-style game that rewards and encourages the players to be great teammates. The situational guidelines like shared history, a mysterious patronage, and giving players a home were inspired by the most successful and fun games I've run for new players. The mechanics in some of the additional rules are probably very unbalanced and may need to be adjusted so please send us feedback at sales@minvathemes.com.
